Every year, the Winston-Salem Fellows will take a mission-trip-of-a-lifetime somewhere in the world. In the past we have traveled to Alaska, the Dominican Republic, Greece and Israel. Who knows where we will go next???
However, adventure is only one thing that sets the Winston-Salem Fellows apart.
The Winston-Salem Fellows is unique in that it is CITY-Centered. Through our many business and church partnerships, we have positioned ourselves to maximize our impact.
As one of our Board Members likes to say: "These Fellows know Winston-Salem better than I do, and I've been here almost twenty years!"
Winston-Salem is also unique in that it is home to a wide variety of career-oriented job opportunities. We have financial hubs (Truist and Wells Fargo), two large health systems (Atrium Wake Forest Baptist and Novant Health), as well as multiple Fortune 500 companies (including Hanesbrands, Reynolds American, Inmar, and Krispy Kreme), not to mention hundreds (yes, hundreds!) of nonprofits. Consequently, our Fellows land top notch jobs with opportunities for future growth.
But we also believe that our Fellows can make a difference. In fact, we leave room for our Fellows to flex the gifts and talents they bring to the table. Within the program, there is room to ideate and create.
We follow the model of Jesus in the belief that WS Fellows aren't primarily called to be served, but to serve.
Whether it's passing out trick-or-treat candy to 10,000 kids at Old Salem
or getting behind the scenes tours of local arts and sporting events
or hiking at one of the several nearby state parks
there is never a dull moment during the Fellows year.
What else?
We serve with legends
We learn from some of the best
We play hard
We love each other well
And we love others with everything we got.
