A Mission of Opportunity: The Winston-Salem Fellows

Each year, the Winston-Salem Fellows embark on a transformative mission trip to a new destination across the globe. Our Fellows have experienced some of the most unique and meaningful adventures from Alaska to the Dominican Republic, Greece to Israel. And who knows where we’ll go next?

But adventure is just one of the things that sets the Winston-Salem Fellows apart.

What makes our program truly unique is our city-centered approach. Through strong partnerships with local businesses and churches, we’ve positioned ourselves to maximize our impact right here in Winston-Salem. As one of our board members likes to say:
"These Fellows know Winston-Salem better than I do, and I’ve been here almost twenty years!"

Winston-Salem offers many career opportunities, making it the perfect backdrop for the Fellows’ journey. From major financial hubs like Truist and Wells Fargo to large health systems like Atrium Wake Forest Baptist and Novant Health, to globally recognized companies such as Hanesbrands, BAT, Inmar, and Krispy Kreme, this city is bursting with possibilities. And let’s not forget about the hundreds of nonprofits making a difference every day. With so many top-tier organizations in town, our Fellows land jobs with incredible growth potential.

But we don’t stop there. We believe our Fellows are here to make a difference, not just in their careers but in the community. The Winston-Salem Fellows program creates space for them to bring their unique gifts and talents to the table. From brainstorming new ideas to creating innovative solutions, there’s always room for creativity and growth within the program.

Above all, we follow the example of Jesus, believing that our Fellows are not called to be served, but to serve. Whether it's distributing candy to 10,000 children at Old Salem during Halloween or

or getting behind the scenes tours of local arts and sporting events

or hiking at one of the several nearby state parks

our Fellows are making a lasting impact through service.
